Salve Regina University Dorm

Farrar & Associates, acting as Construction Manager and General contractor, completed this beautiful 55,000 sq. ft. dormitory on the campus of Salve Regina University in Newport in September of 2026. Farrar & Associates were involved in the permitting and building process from the very beginning of the project. When permitted, the project required the demolition of five ranch style houses of various different styles. Once the clearing was completed, the building project began in earnest in June of 2025.

Working tirelessly through a challenging winter the entire project was completed by over 175 tradesmen in just over a year, in time for occupancy by incoming students in the fall. Farrar & Associates met the challenges of sourcing material and equipment by maintaining a laser focus on placing and tracking purchase orders and constantly communicating with suppliers. The project required over 2,000 cubic yards for foundations and slabs, 3 staircases, 1 elevator, 73 bathrooms, 235 custom windows and 350 wood and metal doors.

The end result was a state of the art, architecturally significant residence that will be a comforting home for new and returning students at Salve Regina University for decades to come.
